Get Rid of PESTS in Your Garden

Cure the pests that are taking over your plants effectively with  natural pesticides!

Commercial pesticides can be dangerous, especially if you plan on eating the produce you grow.  DIY (do it yourself) pest control can be much healthier for your plants and probably a lot healthier for you, too! Here are some homemade natural pesticide, insecticide, organic pesticide, biocide and fungicide recipes.

Well Known Natural Pesticides:
-Tea Tree Oil
-Neem Oil
-Onion
-Mint
-Garlic

Combining any combination of these should kill almost any regular garden pest.  Soak 3 to 4 ounces of chopped garlic bulbs in 2 tablespoons of mineral oil for one day. Dissolve 1 tsp of neem oil in a pint of water and add it to your solution. Stir. Strain liquid and store in a glass container! Dilute 1 part solution to every 20 parts of water.

Here are a few tips to think about when planting your garden.

1. If you plant garlic with tomatoes, it will keep away red spider mites.
2. If you plant garlic around fruit trees, it will repel borers.
3. Spray garlic pesticide on sweet potatoes to repel rabbits.
4. Spray ponds with garlic-based oil to kill mosquitoes.

Insecticidal Soap: Protects against flea beetles, aphids, mealybugs, spider mites, thrips, and white flies.  Insecticidal soap works only on direct contact; spray it right on the target. Combined with horticultural or botanical oils, insecticidal soap manages powdery mildew. Soap kills by drying out the waxy covering on many insects. Using an insecticidal soap is the safest for your plants. You can mix your own using Palmolive, Ivory liquid, Dr. Bruners, Simple Green.  Add a table spoon of soap to 2 cups of water and spray directly on plant.
